With one week left to Christmas, it’s the perfect time to round up thew best games on sale.

Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2 – the latest game from the COD series, if you haven’t played COD before, then now’s a great time to get involved. The history of Call of Duty games is each alternate year they release a modern warfare game or a World at War. The world at war games are always set in the past with old fashioned weapons, whereas the Modern Warfare games have the latest tactical weapons and have proven to be more successful than the World at war games. The game has an awesome online gaming community as well as a challenging campaign mode as well. Here in the UK they’re still selling the uncut version, but you have to agree that you won’t be offended (by killing inocent victims).

Halo 3 ODST – if you’re a dedicated Halo fan, this is a must! It’s awesome to have a new campaign to play through and it’s set in an urban environment. Whilst it was dubbed ‘recon’ the missons are still pretty much the same level of battle (it’s not all recon missions). The main difference is you don’t have a regenerating sheild. You can take a limted amount of fire before your health becomes an issue, at which point you have to find a health pack quick. I must point out that this is a game in the Halo 3 series. This means that the multiplayer is the same as the previous Halo3 multiplayer, although you do get the mythic map pack included. So if you’ve already got Halo3 all you’re getting is the new campaign and the map pack

Assassin’s Creed 2 – oh there’s a new Assassin’s Creed game out! The first was amazin, and i’m definately goin to give this sequel a go. It’s a single player, story game, where you work through the story by completing missions (assassinations). That said you do have the feeling of being able to roam anywhere you want (kinda like with gta). The improvements with the sequel seem to be better grpahics and improved fight sequences. This game is quick to impress, but with the first one i found it felt very repetative after a few missions, hopefully the story will unfold more interestingly this time, providing a new gaming experience as you play. My tip with this game is save your money! Best price i could find ‘NEW’ is Amazon at £34.99. But it’s one of those games that once you’ve finished the story – that’s it! This causes the demand for the game to drop like a brick after a couple of months, so if you don’t mind waiting a while, i’d pick this game up (maybe 2nd hand) around Feb and save some cash!

That’s it, they’re my top games for this Christmas! Have a good one
