This is something that I have been considering for awhile now.  Why do so many game manufactures ignore co-op gaming.  Especially when they have the capacity already built into the game.  We know the games can be played in a co-op mode because they have split screen for the multiplayer section, but no co-op for the campaign.

For me there is nothing beter than working through a game with a buddy, (or “acidently” team killing him with a sticky grenade when he’s not looking, come on I know you’ve done it to.) And now with it being possible to play co-op campaigns online (a blessing if you’ve ever had an  all day gaming session sitting next to Hilikus.)  There is a totally different stratagy involoved if your two players.

Case in point is Call of Duty 4 which is a great game, but you can’t play the campaign co-op – why the hell not, all the technology is already there, why not make the campaign co-op.

So this is my little rant in favour of co-op games.  Will it stop me from buying and play games that aren’t, of course not, and maybe the game designers know this.  But I sure as hell will buy the co-op games first and will always be a co-op gamer at heart.
