Well it’s taken over two months, over 5 hours of being on hold to different call centres, speaking to over 20 different call centre staff (that’s right I counted). Having my home phone number changed three times, and then finally having go back to the one I had before the move.  But I finally have broadband again.

It feels like all my gadgets and I are taking a collective sigh of relief, that and finally updating every bit of software that I seem to have.  You wouldn’t believe howdisconnected from the world you feel when your not plugged-in. I think I would have gone insane if it hadn’t been for my trusty iPhone and a couple of quick visits to my folks house for a wifi fix.  I realise what 7 of 9 felt like when she was taken out of the Borg collective (Just a quick Star Trek reference for all those secret Trekkie’s out there)

Anyway, while I’ve been away I’ve been able to extend my clutch of gadgets a bit.  Pride of place goes to my new iMac, she is an absolute beaut, I’ve been working on a Mac mini for the last couple of years and although she’s been trying hard, she just can’t keep up with the demands I put on her anymore.  But not to worry she hasn’t gone she’s been retired to the lounge where she’s being used as a media centre connected to my TV.  I’ll do a blog about turning a old mac into a media player sometime soon, the results to far have been really good, and I’ve been using more that I did the old xbox mod.

Anyway on with the list, I ended up signing up with BT and got their new black homehub, which is actually kinda of cool.  The last homehub I had I hacked so that I could use it on other ISP, don’t think I’ll try it with this one though.  The really cool thing is that new homehub uses the  802.11n protocol, which is what my iMac runs one, so no cables (yahoo).  Also convinced them to throw in the BT Vision box for free as well, for all the trouble that I’ve had.  Just finished plugging it in now and thought I would come say hi to you guys while that was updating and while the xbox was loading the new dashboard.  Must say so far so good with the new dashboard.

Just wanted say a big thank you so Paul (Hilikus) for doing all the work and keeping the site going while I’ve been disconnected from the world.  To all the new guys that have joined great to see you here and can’t wait to meet up on the forum or playing halo, but take it easy on me I haven’t played halo in almost three months (Damn just realised that means that I’ve used up a whole lot of my xbox live subscription for nothing)

Can’t wait for the next Halo night, come on ChronicMonk don’t leave me hanging
